So here I am sitting here at work and I am so bored. Should have stayed home and accomplished something in my scrap room. Straightening it up is way better than sitting here doing nothing.

Toxic Turkey Card

When the gypsy first came out, I was playing around with it and came up with a turkey card. The more I played with it the more it kept evolving to the card I made today. For the turkey I used Animal Kingdom card and cut it at 4 inches. I cut it twice and cut of the feathers to make the designs on the tail. I used Indy Art for the skeleton head. It was cut a 1 3/4 inches. One I layered the turkey together I ran the white cardstock through on of my cuttlebug folders, added the ribbon and called it done. Hope you like it.

Blog Challenge for February AGC 2/20

Today I finally finished a LO on Why I Scrapbook, which was also a challenge for the AGC. Even though we had to list 10 reasons, there are many more reasons why I scrapbook. I do it for the amount of pleasure that it gives me to document occasions and people that are important to me. This is why several people scrapbook and I am no exception to that. I find now that as I get older and sometimes I forget things, going back and looking at my pages brings back happy moments that make me laugh or smile. Scrapbooking is also a way of a healing process to document what is going on it your own life that you may want to change, show how far you have come in a healing process or just express the joy you felt at that moment in your life. Most of all, I like the companionship scrapbook can give my sharing your experience with fellow scrapbookers either on challenges, teaching or just getting together with friends on a scrap book weekend. Which reminds me, it's time for one of those getaways!

Weight Loss Entry

After procrastinating for so long, I finally decided to join Weight Watchers. Actually I joined last Thursday and started tracking my points then. Today I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting. I wasn't prepared for the support and high energy of this group. Just what I need to help keep my goals in mind. It also helps that a co worker is doing this with me. I am down about 5 pounds from Thursday. Feeling hungry all the time is getting a little bit better everyday so I'm hoping I can stick to this.

I figured if I could quit smoking 3 months ago then I could do this.

One Word for 2011

My one word for 2011 is Freedom.

I want some freedom from some of the debt I am in. So that will involve passing off some of the bills I am paying for other family members to them and making them responsible.

Freedom from not feeling guilty for choices I have made whether the decision is right or wrong.

Freedom to pursue other career goals and then having the courage to act on them. (Trying to start my own business)

Freedom to let the inner me finally shine through and not worry about what others think. Freedom to believe I really am an awesome person.

Freedom to say NO and mean it.

Mostly freedom to let myself feel/be happy. Our family has been through several tramatic issues in the past few years and then I lost my father in July.

Freedom to realize it's okay to fail sometimes. Will I accomplish all these freedoms? Probably not, but but I had the freedom to try.

Time for a New Year and A New Beginning

I decided to try and restart my blog and keep updated on posting on it. I've added a couple of things I did in December.

I also decided to get active on Scrapbook.com after being gone from there for ages to. Here's hoping I can keep up with my New Year changes.

This is the gift certificate holder I made for my secret pal at work. I didn't want to just stick the gift certificate into a plain envelope or loose in the box. So this is what I came up with.

Black Friday Find

I was only able to find a couple of cartridges for Black Friday at our local Walmart. I found Cupcake and Four Legged Friends. Of the two cartridges, I was happy it was FLF that was left. After I got the cartridge home and looked at it, I knew I had to use the bird. He was just to "Tweet" to pass up. So here is the card and the video for it.

It's Spring!

Spring in our block is always full of surprises. I live a on a street that is close to a mountain. It is not unusual for the bang of a dumpster lid to be heard in the early hours of morning or to see the trail of garbage that our visitors leave. We have even seen bears running through our neighbors sprinklers. Going outside to let the dogs out can sometimes be an adventure because you may find a huge furry visitor in your yard or passing through.

Do I mind all of this chaos in the neighborhood? NO I chose to live where I do and it came with the wildlife that is constantly around us (bears, deer, fox, raccoons and a variety of other animals). I actually look forward to spring because I have watch bear cubs playing in front of my yard, had bears in my trees. I am more afraid of the two legged visitors that come around.

This cute little face is driving me nuts. His personality is just to large for his little body. He constantly keeps me hopping.
If he's not terrorizing the other dogs, I have to watch him like a hawk so he won't try to sneak out of the yard.

Now that the beginning of warmer weather is here (or at least a hint of it) and the days are longer, there is less time to spend
in my scrapbook room. I would love to be able to sneak a couple of minutes away that are just mine but sometimes that
seems so impossible. I finally finished a card today that I made with the Robotz cartridge a week or so ago. It's not the best and my grandson was asking me to finish it. It's his now. Maybe there is a ray of hope in this card because if a robot needs and gets love, what is an overworked nurse, grandma, mom and daughter going to get? Love to I hope, or at least a hug.

I never thought I would want this cartridge until I saw it at Hobby Lobby yesterday. One look at the back
and I knew I had to have it. A lot of those cuts are so cute and I may never use it for party items but
I did make two cards using it.

Once Upon a Princess Projects

Last Friday I received my Once Upon a Princess cartridge from Scrappers Must Haves. My granddaughter four took it from me right away and had to look through the manual. Some of the cuts I made from this cartridge were claimed as her property as soon as I finished them but that was alright with me. I finally did get to keep some of the cuts and so I made a few cards. The first thing I did make from this cartridge was the featured quick project. So here they are.

My Scrapbook Room

My room is tucked away in an upstairs bedroom. It's not big, it's not fancy and it is really packed but it is the place of sanity when all else fails. I love to escape up there and forget the world exists sometimes. I get so involved I even forget to let the dogs out until they so rudely interrupt me with all that barking. LOL. Here are some pictures of my room. I didn't even take the time to straighten it up. Why, it will just get messy again. Disregard the can of furniture polish, it was there in case I got motivated to do some dusting. It didn't really work though LOL

Woof U Mutts

I had so much fun making this card. I wanted to add something to it that my grown kids and grandchildren would know the hidden meaning behind. So the addition of the measured ribbon was added. I always tell them "I love you this much" as I hold my arms outstretched so the ribbon was perfect for this card. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it.

My Pink Stampers Challenge

Robyn (My Pink Stamper) and her friend Karlee issued a challenge to get the New Year started. The challenge was to make a card or project
for a friend. I had just finished a friend card this morning so I am going to enter it in her challenge for today. I made a New Years resolution to do more scrapping and card making so at least I am now one day into keeping my New Year's Resolution.

Scrapbook Layout

I love to work on layout's, but lately I don't seem to have to much motivation to do so. When you find the right picture, the motivation seems to come out of nowhere and that is what happened when I found this picture of my grandson. Looking through some of my older scrapbook magazines, I happened to find the inspiration for this layout.

I used my blackletter cartridge for the title. The rest of the layout just seemed to fall together easily.

Snow Friends Card

I really like the little snowmen on the snowfriends cartridge. They are all so cute, but some of the cuts can really
drive you crazy. Even though I tried several times to cut the top of the hat on my snowman, it never did cut
right so I finally gave up and used a marker to fill in the lines.

Simple Card Sunday

On my youtube channel, I decided to start a Simple Card Sunday. I will post a new card on Sunday evening or early Monday (depending on how hard it is to get on youtube.)
I will feature different cartridges that we all may have and may not use very often.

I had a lot of carts that I didn't really know what was on them because I didn't want to thumb through my booklet. All that changed since getting the gypsy. I now look through all the carts loaded on my gypsy to find what I want. Now I don't hesitate to look through my books if I need assistance with the cuts.

Sandy From Sponge Bob Cartridge

For my grandson Ryan, I have been making large cuts from the Sponge cartridge to decorate his room with. I gave him a few for his birthday and now I am going to cut some more for his wall until he has Bikini Bottom in his room.

Today I worked on Sandy and I love the way she turned out, hopefully Ryan will too.

I finally received my preorder dinosaur tracks cartridge. This cartridge is so darn cute. Even though the hour was late, I had to sit down and play with it. This is the card that resulted. I have to go back now and try to figure out what size I could things.

Happy Birthday Ryan

I had to share these pictures of my grandson Ryan. He was so happy to have his birthday cake setting in front of him until the singing started.

I guess he couldn't stand the off key voices and the not so great singing that he burst into tears. Of course that made everyone laugh and think it was so cute.

This was going to be my entry for the Gypsy 24 hour Challenge, but I didn't get it completed in time.

I used Gypsy Font for the monogram shapes under the Let It Snow sentiment. I used Gypsy Wanderings for the slide on the ribbon and the rest of the images came from Winter Woodland. Thanks for dropping in.

Happy Holidays Card

Sometimes the only way to relax after a hard day at work is to sneak into your safe haven of cardmaking/scrapbooking. That is exactly what I did today. I came home so tired and just wanted to take a nap, but the creative urge won out instead this is what I came up with.

I used my favorite way to color in the penguin, added a little heat embossing and i was instantly in a much happier place.

Hope this card brings a smile to your face like it did to mine. Thanks for popping in.

There are so many wonderful videos on youtube with techniques that are new to me. I loved the tri-shelf card tutorial I watched from Splitcoaststampers and I knew I had to try this. It was simple with the wonderful instructions they gave. This is my version of that card and I know I will be doing a few more since it was so much fun.

This is the first card I designed using my Gypsy. At one point I didn't think I would keep it because of all the issues with Vista 64 and not being able to register. Well Provocraft fixed all that today and this is the result of finally being able to get the updates. I called this card amazing because I was amazed my Gypsy was finally able to do all it was supposed to do. I LOVE my Gyspy now and can't wait to get to know it better.

I was so excited to come home from work yesterday afternoon and my Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge was in the mail. I was so exicted I couldn't even wait to get into the house and open it. One of the things I like to do is try the getting started project. So upstairs I ran and did this cute little card. Altered Magnetic Calendar

I am supposed to be cleaning house! My scrapbook room was calling my name, loudly and clearly, so what's a girl to do. I made myself promise I would do that dreaded housework after I altered one tiny little thing.

Multi Layered Card

This card was inspired by Dawn after I watched her video on this technique. This was fun to do and even though I made a few mistakes, the embellies hid them perfectly.

I used the stamp set from Anna Griffin called Shoes and Handbags. I got this stamp set for 3 dollars on closeout at Michaels. The sentiment was stamped using Stampin Up's Elegant greetings and the ribbons are Martha Steward also on close out for 50 cents.

My daughter gave me several stamp sets for my birthday yesterday. They were so cute I couldn't resist sitting down tonight and making a quick card. As usual, I colored in my images with Twinkling H20's and used Close to my Hearts liquid glass to fill in the balloons. I think this turned out to be one of my favorite cards. The stamp set came from Archivers and in my haste to use the stamps I threw away the packaging and I don't know what this stamp set is called. I would love to receive your comments on this quick card.

I received my Life's a Beach in the mail a couple of weeks ago and other than taking it out of the packaging I really hadn't done much with it.

Tonight I decided to spend some time on myself and brought out the cartridge. This card was the end result of experimenting with it. I really like the way this turned out!

4th of July Fireworks

Every year our little town puts on an awesome fireworks display and this year was no exception. Even the rain in the afternoon cancelled several 4th of July activities including the parade, no amount of rain kept the huge crowd away fro the fireworks display. Even though we watched most of it from inside of the car, I had to get out a take a few pictures. These were two of my favorite photos.

I found the tutorial for the waterfall card on youtube and I knew I had to try this technique. I know now not to film in a room with direct sunlighte filtering into the room and I don't quite have the hang of editing, but here is the video for this card.

Growing Old Gracefully

Now as another birthday approaches, I thought the red hat card seemed appropriate for me at this time. I have been under a great deal of stress for the past 9 month and have noticed more and more how gray my hair has gotten. Last night my daughter also made the comment on how gray I've become lately. I have at times changed my hair color to restore to a color of my earlier days. Now as another birthday approaches, I find it really doesn't matter any more. So here is to "Growing Old Gracefully."

Preschool Graduation Layout

I have been a major scrapbooking slump for the past few months. I usually participate on several challenges at scrapbook.com but haven't kept up with this for awhile. So I joined the June Round Robin Challenge. I had to lift the person ahead of me. I followed her concept for the multiple photos and the bling she used. I kept my layout simple for this one since it was for a preschool graduation and I wanted the photos of my granddaughter Madison to be the focal point for this layout.

I used the wild card cart for the hat, jasmine for the class of 2009, mickey font for the title, and the fiskars threading water punch.

Bras Are Like Friends Card

When I found this stamp set on ebay, I knew I had to have it. It was so cute, so I set off to bid on it. I was quite a battle but I finally won it. The stamp set is by Skippings Stones and is called Bras Are Like Friends. While looking through ytube videos, I saw this card on Two Peas in A Bucket, so I had to try it using this stamp set.

To make this card, here is what I did:

1. Cut 8 1/2 paper in half. Fold in half and score with bone folder.

2. Next I cut another small piece of black card stock to fit on the card.

3. I stamped my images using versamark and the heat embossed with pink embossing powder.

4. I added my ribbon to the the front of the card and secured the ends on the back scotch tape.

5. Using my Perfect Layers (I love these, they give you a perfect mat every time) I matted the

stamped image.

6. Using my white versamark stamp pad I stamped the Bras are like friends image to the side of

the card after making little tic marks on where I wanted the image to appear. I then

embossed with white embossing powder.

7. I added dimensionals to the back of the stamped image and attached it to the card.

8. Using my marvy scallop punch, I punched the scallop and chalked the edges.

9. I stamped the saying They never leave you hanging with black ink and punched the

heart border on the top with my fiskars punch.

Beautiful Scrapbook Page

A friend took this picture of his cousin on a recent visit back home. I loved the picture so much, I asked him if I could scrapbook it for her. He said yes and this is what I came up with. I used paint for the background and cut the title with my cricut. He mailed if off and she loved it.

My scanner wouldn't scan this LO so I had to take a pic of it. Sorry for the bad pic.

Wolf Card

Card making is one of my most favorite thing to do and combined with using Twinkling H20's to color in my image. I made my wolf card using a New Mexico designed stamp. I stamped the wolf using my versamark pad and heat embossed it with Diamond Dust embossing powder. Using my twinkling H20's I colored in the image. I love the rich color these paints leave and frequently use it on many of my cards or projects.

Video making

Now that I have my blog up and running, I decided to try my hand at making a video.
To say the least, I found this to be very frustrating. Of course anything that could
go wrong, did go wrong. First my glue runner ran out of adhesive. Then I couldn't get my patterned paper to line up on my cardstock and finally my flip video batteries
ran out. So off to the store I go for more batteries. Hopefully this next time will yield a video.
